Are you equipped to be a good mom? Don’t sweat it because the things that make up a good mother has a name; it’s called maternal instincts, and all mothers of sound mind have it. You can say it comes with the package, or in your case, the bundle of joy.
If you haven’t yet realized, these maternal instincts are mostly common sense. There are no manuals or classes for motherhood because it is something inherent in women once they start having children.
The most common motherly instinct has to do with setting boundaries for the child. These boundaries should skirt around right and wrong, actions and consequences, acceptable and unacceptable behavior. You need to start on this very early and keep pounding on it relentlessly.
Probably the best way for your children to develop a sense of security and confidence is to constantly watch over them and be consistent with your dealings with them. You must be around to correct their mistakes and applaud their accomplishments.
Watching over our children is a basic instinct that women have more than anyone else in the planet. Children need to be cared for and being able to fly with a safety net or under the wings of a bigger bird and this will encourage them to broaden their horizons with a healthy measure of discipline and caution.
