Since communication is a two-way street, make sure you listen to what they have to say and listen earnestly. This is important especially if they are relating stories about their feats and accomplishments. Make them feel that whatever they are telling you is as important to you as it is to them. 

Not being able to be with your child 100 percent of the time does not a bad mom make, but not making the most out of whatever time spent with your child does.
